The Polaris Press Newspaper was launched in August of 2013 by a small group of students passionate about journalism. They brought together the inaugural newspaper staff and together have built this newspaper from the ground up.

The 2017-2018 school year marks the third year that the Polaris Press has been providing quality news and features for the Ann Richards School. The staff has won numerous awards in writing, and our fearless Co-Editors in Chief, as well as our editors and hard-working writers, work constantly to develop this newspaper to be the best it can be. Be sure to check out coming print editions, which come out twice a semester.

Editorial Policy: The Polaris Press is the student-run school newspaper of the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders, and works to seek truth and report up. Beyond the Ann Richards campus, the Ann Richards campus, the Polaris Press also reports on national and international news in an attempt to broaden our readers’ sphere of knowledge. Because the school administration does not engage in a prior review, the content of the Polaris Press is determined by and reflects only the views of, the students and staff and not school officials or the school itself. In addition, the Polaris Press commits to full responsibility for legal and financial liability for the content of this publication.

  1. We recently received the Polaris Press Fall 2017 edition and wanted to commend Ann Richards School, advisors, and Polaris staff for your excellent publication. It is very informative, well researched and contains thoughtful insights into the students, teachers and staff. Please continue your attention to detail work efforts. If you want some constructive feedback, we suggest larger fonts as current fonts are very small and hard to read.
