Student Council Candidates 2015-2016

This morning, students grades six through eleven filed in to the large gym for the eighth time in a row to do their civil duty: elect the 2015-2016 Student Council representatives.
Student Body
Web Master-Historian:
Sarah Bustos-Lopez: “I want to have a website with notes on meetings along with pictures from events…I love combining my passion of yearbook with student council.”
Vice President:
Maya Messinger: “I want to bring together the school community more and communicate with middle school…Along with having a more active Student Council.”
President:
Perla Grimaldo-Ramirez: “I don’t take ‘no’ as an answer…I would like to plan more activities for each grade level.”
7th Grade
Representative:
Tricia Amaya: “Do you want to have things better around here? Then vote for me.”
Vice President:
Maricarmen Marquez: “I want seventh grade to be a memorable year for all of us…No idea will be left behind.”
Zia Malangalila: “I will have more activities for fitness Friday such as sprout ball…I would be honored to represent such an amazing group of young ladies.”
President:
Saskia Solotko: “I will stay dedicated to my job for the entire year and work my hardest to bring the class of 2021 together…I stand against rumors and bullying. I stand by your right to have a fun and exciting day every day.”
Chelsea Saucedo-Tapia: “I will arrange fun events and work to accomplish your goals.”
Ellie Geeslin: “I’m determined to make the school grow and make it even more of a hit than it already is…Your future with me will be so bright you’ll need sunglasses.”
8th Grade
Representative:
Desiree Santander: “Cooperation and teamwork will get us far…Together we can achieve great things.”
Sara Medeiros: “I’m a natural born diplomat…I haven’t done this before but it will be a great journey.”
Vice President:
Katherine Ownby: “I have a strong belief in leadership and a strong belief in women in leadership roles.”
Sharon Desiree Bonner: “I will be fun and NOT boring…A vote for me is a voice for you.”
President:
Janaye A. Scales: “I promise to listen to and speak for all of you. Choose me, Janaye A. Scales for your 8th grade class president.”
Eleanor Jeansonne: “I will work with the representatives and vice president so all activities we do will be exciting and fun…I will do all that I can do so that your last middle school year is fun.”
Esmeralda Aguilar: “I seek this position because I have a grand desire in my heart and mind to make change.”
9th Grade
Representative:
Nicole Ramirez: “I think I would be good for this position because I am a good listener, and I communicate well with others.”
Luz Cruz: “You can always come to me no matter how weird or strange you think your idea is.”
Karla Rodriguez: “I really want to make this coming year the best yet.”
Vice President:
Erin Nolan: “My goal is to make high school a memorable year – one we can look back on and go, ‘Oh, that was a good year.’ ”
Marlene Mora: “If I can take care of my turtle, I can take care of you.”
President:
Prisila Samaniego Marin: “If I can march with a sousaphone on my back, I can carry this class.”
Almina Orbach: “Even though I’m really corny and weird on the outside, on the inside I’m serious when I need to get things done.”
Candace Castillo: “Ever since I came to ARS, I have wanted to be a leader.”
10th Grade
Representative:
Stephanie Labrador Hernandez: “I’m pretty chill and I think that’s a good quality of a person.”
Vice-President:
Georgia Moore: “I wanna shake things up.”
Sarahi Villalobos: “But, I’m no politician.”
President:
Julie Apagya-Bonney: “There’s so much more I can accomplish.”
Emily Ownby: “Put your trust in a new leader, full of new ideas and strength.”
Jackie Galvan: “I want to have a non-stressful year.”
Ava Lindquist-Sher: “I’m also very outspoken… and I will be the voice.”
11th Grade
Representative:
Diana Ramirez: “The only thing that I can promise is to be myself. I will be the creepy, weird classmate that you know.”
Vice President:
Chandler Linseisen: “We should show the middle schoolers what it means to be a high schooler. Because you know what? We’re cool, and everyone should look up to us, because we are the leaders of this school.”
Elena Gonzalez: “As Beyonce, I will make sure that your opinions, comments, questions, and concerns are all taken into consideration. Us single ladies must put on our halos and band together, flawlessly, because one day we will run the world.”
President:
Noemi Covarrubias: “It’s about time we start talking to each other, and breaking the ice. It’s my time to show you my true colors, because I want something different.”
Wendy Rodriguez: “Just like this confetti, we need to party, man. We need to unite like we’ve never seen before, because all of you have talents that will take you far.”
12th Grade
Representative:
Reyna Ostos: “We all pride ourselves in being the best grade. I may be small but I can do great things.”
Olivia Crouch: “Being at this school has taught me that I love communication…It’s our last year and we want it to be our best.”
Itzel Ruiz: “I can count the number of Student Council meetings I’ve missed on one hand. This either means I don’t have a life or I’m just dedicated to Student Council. Alright, it’s both.”
Vice President:
Tiffany Baltierra: “No one is expected to over come next year by themselves. I’m here for you.”
Maria Martinez: “I want to make you feel incorporated into every activity we plan for senior year…Class of 2016, I want to watch High School Musical until 3am with all of you.”
Lupita Galvan-Tinoco: “I won’t give up…I will see to it that however you want senior year to go will happen. Be a pal and vote for this gal(van).”
President:
Febe Martinez: “I like to think of ‘no’ as a challenge…Greatest successes come out of failure.”
Guiny Thomas: “I got Ms. Waugh to approve a senior trip, which we’ve already have a plethora of new fundraising ideas for…I promise to be as honest as your mom is.”
