Adelyne and Azul

I will be brave

I will not let anything

Take away

What’s standing in front of me

Every breath,

Every hour has come to this

One step closer

Scary, passionate, hurting, hopeful, lightning, and fun are all words that Adelyne “Addie” Towne used to describe her talent.

What is that talent you may ask?

Singing, which has landed her a spot in the annual Follies Talent Show, along with her friend and fellow sixth grader, Azul.

When asked about how she felt her audition went, she said that during their audition, she “really wasn’t sure if she had gotten in” and admitted that she thought she “messed up and missed notes,” as well as “I kind of gave up hope.” But fortunately, her doubts were just that-doubts.

“I think that we’re doing alright,” Addie says, on how how she and Azul have been working very hard on perfecting their performance of Christina Perri’s,  A Thousand Years.

Like most people would be, Addie is a little nervous. “The talent show was kind of a dream,” Adelyne admits before telling us, “Me and Azul just realized how much time we have left!” which is why they’re getting more and more nervous with each passing day.

Addie has been singing since before she can remember, describing that, “Every time I sing, I feel like I’m getting closer to the right note.”

If possible in her future, Adelyne would be up to putting forth 110% effort to make singing her career, but regardless of where singing and music take her, Addie knows that her parents are there to support her no matter what, saying, “I think my parents are very proud of me.”

And all along I believed

I would find you

Time has brought

Your heart to me

I have loved you for a

Thousand years

I’ll love you for a

Thousand more
